Babinda Boulders is a popular swimming, camping and picnic area, located in the tropical rainforest foothills of Bartle Frere (Queensland's highest mountain, at 1622m) and 6km from the township of Babinda.
The area is named for its huge outcrops of granite boulders that can be found along Babinda Creek and in its sparkling clear mountain water.
A well maintained walking track (2km one way) leads downstream to the three main lookouts, and is a starting point for the Goldfield Walking track (19km one way).
The areas facilities include: toilets, cold showers, gas BBQ's, sheltered picnic tables and a free camping area, as well as parking suitable for RV's and caravans.
